| Adoption requirements: | A large aquarium (minimum 40 gallons for juveniles, 75+ gallons for adults) with both water and a dry basking area. A basking spot with a heat lamp providing temperatures around 29–32°C. UVB lighting to help with shell and bone health (necessary for vitamin D3 synthesis). Water temperature should be maintained between 24–27°C. |
| Description | Red-Eared Sliders are generally active and curious. They enjoy swimming and basking but can be shy around humans at first. Over time, many become accustomed to their owners and may even recognize feeding times. |
